Yoga Flow is a combination of mindful breathing, stretching, and yoga to create mental clarity, relieve chronic stress patterns,
relax the mind, and increase body awareness. Unlike traditional yoga where you hold postures or asanas for 90 seconds, my class is a flow, what I call moving meditation.
Yoga is an ancient system of physical and mental practices that originated in South Asia and ancient India. The fundamental purpose of yoga is to foster harmony in the body, mind, and environment. First codified by the sage Patanjali in his Yoga Sutras around 400 C.E, the practice was in fact handed down from teacher to student long before this text arose. Traditionally, this was a one-to-one transmission, but since yoga became popular in the West in the 20th century, group classes have become the norm.
The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning “to yoke,” or “to unite”. The practice aims to create union between body, mind and spirit, as well as between the individual self and universal consciousness. Such a union tends to neutralize ego-driven thoughts and behaviors, creating a sense of spiritual awakening.
Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years, and whilst many different interpretations and styles have been developed, most tend to agree that the goal of yoga is to achieve liberation from suffering. Although each school or tradition of yoga has its own emphasis and practices, most focus on bringing together body, mind and breath as a means of altering energy or shifting consciousness.
Modern yoga is most commonly associated with the physical practice of asana, a series of postures often weaved together in styles such as Vinyasa Flow or Ashtanga. Asana practice is generally intended to build strength and stamina, to improve flexibility, coordination and balance, and to relax the body. However, this provides only one small aspect of the tradition of yoga as a whole.
Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras provide the traditional foundation of yoga, in which he outlines an eightfold path of the practice. Known as the ‘Eight Limbs of Yoga,’ this path offers a guide to individuals who are dedicated to creating a union between body, mind and spirit.
Each of the Eight Limbs offers a means of living with more integrity, self-discipline, respect for nature and connection with the spiritual aspects of life. These eight practices are intended to be carried out in a holistic and integrative manner:
1. Yamas - Five universal, ethical and moral observances to live by (nonviolence, truthfulness, non-stealing, continence and non-covetousness)
2. Niyamas - Five spiritual and self-discipline observances (cleanliness, contentment, spiritual austerities, study of scriptures and surrender to God)
3. Asana - physical posture, originally intended only for seated meditation, but more recently adapted to encompass all physical yoga practices
4. Pranayama - breathing exercises to control the flow of prana (vital life force)
5. Pratyahara - Withdrawal of the senses
6. Dharana - Single pointed concentration
7. Dhyana - Meditation
8. Samadhi - Liberation or blissful union with the Divine
The traditional practice of yoga was quite rigorous. A lifelong devotion to the practice and adherence to strict sacrifices was expected. Later-age yoga teachers have modified the techniques, and various paths emerged:
1. Bhakti (devotion)
2. Karma (action/selfless service)
3. Jnana (knowledge/self-study)
4. Raja (self discipline/practice).
Although modern schools of yoga such as Jivamukti, Bikram and Sivananda offer alternative interpretations, most are rooted in the same philosophical concepts and practices as Patanjali’s Eight Limbs.
Yoga is also used as a therapeutic tool for many physical and mental conditions, and mind-body research is now demonstrating its effectiveness as a treatment for chronic pain, anxiety, depression, cardiovascular disease and diabetes, to name but a few.[1]
Yoga is a gentle way to improve your posture, balance, and coordination. Yoga is a systematic practice of physical exercise, breath control, relaxation, diet control, positive thinking, and meditation aimed at developing harmony in the body, mind, and environment.
The process involves the arousal of the Kundalini Shakti or serpent power, believed to be located at the base of the human spine. As one practices the various techniques, this power/latent energy rises through a series of centers or Chakras corresponding to various endocrine glands. When this power reaches the highest center, which is associated with the hypothalamus gland regulating the hormonal secretion of the endocrine system, control over the hypothalamus results. In this way, the secretion of hormones from various endocrine glands can be regulated. This mechanism may explain the importance of yoga as a stress management technique.
Today, many schools of yoga have simplified the techniques and made them easy to practice for working people. The system of yoga is in the process of developing as an organized science. Various techniques have developed and become popular throughout the world, particularly in the West, which is, in comparison with the old methods, simpler and less time-consuming.

Yoga Flow is a combination of multiple yoga disciplines, maximizing the benefits.
Kriya yoga decarbonates the blood stream and recharges it with oxygen. This extra oxygen is converted into life current to rejuvenate the central nervous system, lessening and preventing the decay of tissues, and enhancing the evolution of the mind.
Instead of holding an asana we repeat the asanas to allow for drainage of the lymphatic system. Each movement in and out of the asana pumps fresh blood and oxygen into the bloodstream and organs, removing old blood carrying toxins. This can reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure, regulate blood sugar, balance metabolism, and boost immunity.

While “yang” yoga focuses on your muscles, yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It's slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Yin yoga can strengthen the body and help to reduce or prevent the aging process.
Restorative yoga is meant to soothe and ease the body and nervous system. It promotes the release of the entire musculoskeletal system and teaches students the art of self-soothing.
Combining these yoga techniques makes Yoga Flow accessible to everyone!

The mind is powerful. We literally create our reality with the power of thought. Change your thoughts change your reality. Your body believes what you tell it. Feed it negativity, get back illness. Speak of disease, you BECOME the disease. You get back what you put in. These are the Laws of the Universe.

Guided Meditation is the practice of detaching from our thoughts.
When we become aware of a thought we can observe it.
Once we are able to watch our thoughts, we can control the mind.
This leads to inner peace.
Meditation has been thought to benefit overall mental health in kids. It can help children regulate their emotions, thereby having fewer meltdowns, reduce their impulsivity, and improve concentration and focus.
All classes are available virtually through Zoom, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or IG Video.
The vision of Luna Health & Wellness DBA "Luna Moonworkz" is to provide holistic practices to achieve optimal well-being. Luna Health LLC was founded by Luna Moonz after her journey to wellness inspired her to empower others to take control of their health.
Luna Moonz has been practicing yoga alongside bellydance for almost 20 years to increase flexibility, strength, and endurance. She began studying the asanas for the physical benefits but soon found her spiritual enlightenment through the asanas by connecting to Source. In 2018, Luna had the opportunity to attend a yoga and bellydance retreat in Ko Samui, Thailand. There she studied the style ViniYoga, created by Gary Kraftsow. Luna is currently studying the Kaivalya Yoga method.
Luna Moonz discovered guided meditation at the recommendation of her acupuncturist. Through meditation, Luna discovered many benefits to her physical and mental well-being. Luna Moonz is currently taking sannyasas with the Indian master Osho Rajneesh, the creator of the most powerful dynamic meditation techniques today, and a new system of sannyasa. Sannyasa is a Sanskrit term that refers to a stage in a person’s life, or spiritual development, in which one renounces material possessions to concentrate purely on spiritual matters. Their goal at this point is to achieve moksha, which is liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth. Very advanced yogis may seek out this sort of lifestyle to deepen or even complete their spiritual yoga journey.
